Notice on Strengthening Control of Immersion Water Heaters on AliExpress

Dear sellers,

The immersion water heater is a kind of electric heater whose components are immersed in water during use to rapidly heat water. Due to the high risks of the products, such as electric shock and scalding during use, the European Union's Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) has issued multiple notices to recall immersion water heaters recently. In order to protect the rights and interests of consumers and provide the consumers with high-quality and safe products, AliExpress will ban the immersion water heater products in the EU and UK market from December 23, 2020.

I. Scope

Immersion water heaters controlled include the straight type and the spiral type. Common products are shown in the following pictures:

II. Time 

Immersion water heater products must be listed under the following subcategories: Home Appliances>> Major Appliances>> Water Heaters>> Electric Water Heaters. AliExpress will investigate the immersion water heater products sold on the platform from December 23, 2020, and block the products from the EU and UK market. Products sold to other countries shall also meet local laws and regulations.

III. Violations and penalties

Products listed under an incorrect category will be subject to the following penalties:

For products that are not listed under the specified category: For the first violation, the products will be removed (but editable); for the second violation, the products will be deleted.
 

For accounts with severe violations, the platform will impose penalties in accordance with AliExpress Rules on Handling Severe Disruption of Platform Order: 
Serious violation: 12 points/time, freezing the AliExpress account for seven days;
Extremely serious violation: 48 points/time, closing the AliExpress account.
