Notice on the Tightened Control of Automobile and Motorcycle Accessory Products on AliExpress
Dear sellers,
In order to meet the increasing demand for automobile and motorcycle accessories in the global market, and provide consumers with high-quality and safe products, AliExpress will open an entry for sellers to upload the ECE qualification and US DOT qualification for relevant categories of auto and motorcycle accessories on November 30, 2020, and start the first round of tightened control over products in the related categories on December 15, 2020. Specific requirements are as follows:
I. Scope
The first round of control involves the following 6 subcategories under the Automobiles, Parts & Accessories category:
II. Requirements
Sellers shall upload corresponding product certification information when listing the products to the aforementioned categories. Specific requirements are as follows:
1. For products sold into the EU market, sellers shall submit the product packaging/label (which must contain the manufacturer and ECE marking), and the ECE certificate.
2. For products sold in the US market, sellers shall submit the outer packaging label (which must contain the manufacturer and DOT marking), and the DOT certificate or test report that can certify that the products meet the FMVSS requirements.
III. Time
The platform will conduct the first round of control on newly listed and stock products from December 15, 2020. Products that fail the platform review will be blocked from the US market. Please upload the certification in time.
IV. Violations and penalties
1. Products that fail to meet the above requirements will be blocked from the US market on the platform.
2. Products listed under an incorrect category will be subject to the following penalties:
For the first violation, the products will be removed (editable for re-uploading); for the second violation, the products will be deleted.
For a seller with repeated misplacement for the purpose of evading controls, the product will be deleted and two points will be deducted from the seller's account.
3. If a seller sells recalled products and violates the prohibition and restriction rules, the products will be deleted and two points will be deducted from the seller's account.
4. Sellers who submit fake certification or certification owned by another seller will be subject to the following penalties:
If a seller submits fake label information or uses others' label information, the product will be deleted and six points will be deducted from the seller's account.
For accounts with severe violations, the platform will impose penalties in accordance with AliExpress Rules on Handling Severe Disruption of Platform Order:
Serious violation: 12 points/time, freezing the AliExpress account for seven days;
Extremely serious violation: 48 points/time, closing the AliExpress account.
After the release of this announcement, if there are updates or changes to relevant control requirements, the platform will issue a separate announcement to notify all sellers. Please upload relevant certification in time to comply with platform requirements and protect your legal rights and interests.
